Marketing Data Extraction

This help topic is applicable to the following TireMaster applications:

The Marketing Data Extraction for TireMaster helps you expand your marketing capabilities. With this utility, you can extract customer purchase data from TireMaster and send it to a marketing firm that will use the data to create products such as service reminders, demographic reports, and advertisements.

Initial Release, May 2011

Before you can install the Marketing Data Extraction, you need to download the installer from the TireMaster Support site.

To download the Marketing Data Extraction Installer

1. Close all applications.
2. Go to http://support.tiremaster.com.
3. Type your customer number and password. Then click Login. The Support Center home page opens.
4. Click Download Programs on the menu. The Download Center page opens.
5. Under Update Files, click the link for the Marketing Data Extraction. You’ll be prompted to save the file and possibly run the installation, depending on your browser.
6. Save the installer on your computer.
Note: Downloading the installer might take several minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.
7. Exit the TireMaster Support site.

After you've downloaded the installer for the Marketing Data Extraction, you can complete the installation. The Marketing Data Extraction can be installed on the server, workstations, or both.

To install the Marketing Data Extraction

1. Right-click the MarketSetup.exe file name and select Run as Administrator. A confirmation message appears.
2. Click Yes. The TireMaster - Installation Program screen opens.
3. Click OK. The TireMaster - Search Results screen opens.
4. Select the TireMaster location in which you want to install the utility and click Install.
5. At the end of the installation, click Finish.

When you want to submit your TireMaster data to a marketing firm, use the Marketing Data Extraction to create a data output file.

To create a marketing data output file

1. On the desktop, double-click TM Market. The Marketing Login screen opens.
2. Type your TireMaster user ID and password. Then click OK. The marketing output selection screen opens.
3. Set the beginning and ending dates for the output file's date range.
4. Choose a location for the output file.

To place the output file in the default folder, leave the entry in the Location field alone.

To place the output file in a different folder, click Location. Then select the alternate location and click Save.

5. Click Create Output.
6. To close the confirmation message, click OK.
7. Close the marketing output selection screen.
