Transferring Inventory
Stores that are part of a chain or that work with buying groups often need to transfer inventory from one location to another. In TireMaster, transfers are handled as sales. In a transfer, you sell items at cost instead of the regular selling price. Charges for transfers post to a special account in the general ledger, and transfer sales are separated from other sales on the income statement.
Before you can create transfer invoices, you need to complete various settings. First, make sure that a transfer customer type exists. Then set two system controls and create customer records for your transfer customers.
