Adding Transfer Customers

A transfer customer is usually a buying group or another store in a multistore chain.

Note:       You should check with your accountant to determine whether transfer customers should be taxable or nontaxable. In the settings for transfer customers, we recommend leaving the Taxable check box selected on the Customer Maintenance screen and assigning an exempt tax level. The result is that all transactions appear on your sales tax reports.

To add a transfer customer

1.       Create a customer record for the transfer customer. For more information, see Adding a Customer.

2.       Assign the transfer customer type to the new customer:

a.    If it’s not already visible, select the General tab on the Customer Maintenance screen.

b.    Click Edit.

c.    Click the Type field and press keyAcctTilde00017.jpg. Then select customer type for transfer customers from the list.

Note:       T is the default customer type set up in TireMaster for transfer customers. However, you can add your own customer type to handle transfer customers. For more information, see Adding Customer Types.

3.       Clear the Cash Only check box.

4.       Add additional information to the transfer customer’s record if needed.

5.       To save the transfer customer, click OK.
